When I moved to Dwight in 2004, I didn’t just find a place to live; I found a community that quickly felt like home. The people, the sense of pride, and the genuine small-town character made a lasting impact on me and my family. As the years went by, I felt a growing responsibility to give back in a meaningful way and to help strengthen the community that had welcomed us so warmly. That sense of commitment, combined with my lifelong dedication to public service in the fire profession, ultimately led me to run for Village President in 2021.
As someone who has spent over 30 years in the fire service and 28 years as a career firefighter, public service has shaped nearly every part of my life. Since 2014, I have had the honor of serving as the Fire Chief of the Dwight Fire Protection District, where I have worked closely with our residents, first responders, and regional partners to strengthen community safety and preparedness. Those experiences have shown me how much strong local leadership matters, and they inspired me to bring that same dedication, accountability, and long-term vision to Village government.
I also ran because I wanted to help our local businesses grow, strengthen our economic future, and ensure Dwight remains a place where families feel supported and secure. Most importantly, I wanted my children to grow up in a community they would be proud of, one they would want to stay in, build their own lives in, and someday raise their families in.
When I ran for reelection in 2025, it was because that commitment had only deepened. We had made meaningful progress, but I knew there was more work to do, more opportunities to expand public safety initiatives, continue economic development, and build on the sense of community that makes Dwight special.
Serving as Village President is a responsibility I take seriously, and I am grateful for the trust our community has placed in me. I am fortunate to work alongside an exceptional Village Administrator, dedicated department heads, and an amazing staff whose professionalism and teamwork make our progress possible. My focus remains on providing strong, steady leadership, supporting our residents, strengthening local businesses, and making thoughtful decisions that guide Dwight toward continued growth and long-term success. Together, we will keep building a safer, stronger, and more vibrant community that we are proud to call home.
